This is my micro fiction entry for the Three Word Wednesday prompt.
Jared knew to pacify the demons he would have to do it again. He didn’t want to. Dread filled him at the thought, but he knew he had no other choice. He couldn’t fight it any longer. Fingers shaking, he lit the cigarette, his fragile grasp on willpower broken.

Really shows the pull of cigarettes. I wanted one earlier and haven't smoked in years--but promised myself I would just kill myself if I went for a cigarette. Quicker and easier. The urge ended as quickly as it came
Tight little story, great grasp of detail.
Tight little story; great pace and fine detail for being so compact.

Hi Angel;
Very nice use of the prompts.
My hubby was like that 5 years back. He was always defeated. But thank God, he has finally overcome it and is no longer tempted in any way!
Thanks for sharing.
Glad to hear that, Amity. Congrats to him!
