Family Matters

My newest micro fiction piece for Three Word Wednesday. Hope y'all like this one.

Amber gave no thought to controlling the amount of pressure she applied to the flesh of her wrist with the razor. By that point, she was beyond caring how big a mess she made in her mother’s life.

Cutting is such an awful thing to both feel the need to do and to be the one who has to try and understand the reasoning behind it and try to offer help.
With razors in the prompt words, what other thoughts can they produce but either shave or cut.
Very nicely said!

I have saw a few that used it in a romantic way, but most have been about the literal sense of the word.

It happens in real life too, sad.

It is so sad to think that one would want ot cut themselves and not care about themselves or others. I know that this happens so much. It breaks my heart. I wonder what torments a person. Good write!

Thanks so much for reading, y'all. It is very sad that people have to go to these lengths and hurt themselves.

Or maybe the mess is by the mother's hands..just a thought..Jae

Could be, Jae, you never know.

Wow, on point micro flash. Great use of the prompts, told the story very precisely. She didn't care what mess she left behind. Suicide is often that way.

I agree, Denise. Often, by that point, I believe they are hurting too much to care about anything but easing the pain.

Very powerful use of the three words.

As a parent, I don't understand how a mother could ever be so selfish as to drive a child to this point. I realize that it does happen, but I don't understand it.

It is sad when people feel like there is no other option left.
